Observations
I know, I know…I should start to write in English: Irina complained about italian posts
So I am going to show you – since you cannot pop-up in my office -
how is a Munich dawn..and early-morning observations at Arecibo!

Ja ja, Arecibo, the most famous radio telescope of the world: I know what you are thinking
(after maybe a quick look on Google maps, right?)
“beautiful beaches, warm weather, sun and nice guys..”
we’ll see..Now let’s me just show you what observing means:
using three different screens (and dreaming of the fourth one!) .
The first one shows EXACTLY what the telescope is doing, which galaxy is observing, the receiver position.
With the second one you could check data, and the last is the “Arecibo control room”, the Power!
For example, I could just decide to move the most famous radio telescope of the world and search for E.T or listen to Italian radio.. :p
However, you are right, because I know that you are also thinking it’s impossible that I was gone to Portorico Island, “without telling you???”;
in fact I was in Garching – Unfortunately…
So here is the last picture, in which you recognize the German feel.
See you tomorrow, at 6.15 am at work!

Ja,ja,ja, Irina complained =).
